I have two main vices in life, one pretty obvious (to you guys at least); Makeup, and the other perhaps not so obvious.. Jewellery. As of late, this jewellery addiction has been steadily intensifying, with me spending hours on my favorite sites like
Etsy,
Restyle, and
GlitterGoth (and of course Ebay), drooling over beautiful necklaces and earrings and making the cheeky purchase here and there. If only I was rich... although I'm not, and my jewellery box (or should I say 'boxes') is(/are) already getting out of hand..
Anyway, you might remember me going on about my new Emerald Venom necklace that I purchased from GlitterGoth a few posts back (If not,
here). Soon after I received an email from the lovely Abi, asking me if they could post my picture on their Facebook (which I was UBER flattered by), and if I would like to receive a product in consideration for review. Seeing as I already had a wishlist from GG with 28 items in there (I told you I had a problem), I practically bit her hand off!
GlitterGoth is one of the leading UK stockists of Alchemy Gothic jewellery and other accessories. I first came across them whilst looking for the best place to buy my Alchemy Emerald Venom necklace, I liked their layout and the fact that they have a little button up the top right corner that converts the price from £ to € or pretty much any other currency you can think of. One of my pet hates is online shops not having the prices in €! After purchasing, I was impressed with the fast delivery, I received my necklace within 5 days (though I did purchase just before the weekend so it was more like 3 working days). One of the things I also love about them is how genuinely friendly and helpful they are to their customers. A quick look at their
Facebook page and you can see that for yourself! And isn't
Abi a stunner?!
On to the necklace that I chose.. Plenty of pictures because it's so intricately detailed and beautiful!
Even the back of it is pretty!
I just... I love it. Everything about it is right up my street, from the intricate Baroque swirls and framing to the monochrome feel of it. I get so many compliments when I'm wearing it, yet I don't feel like it's overly dramatic or anything. My Emerald Venom necklace on the other hand... It is pretty dramatic to have a huge spider wrapped around your neck! And whilst the EV necklace is definitely not everyone's cup of tea (I've had old ladies tut at me when wearing it, Ooo er), the Rococulus necklace appeals to pretty much any age. I also love that it's asymmetrical, it's something different, though I do have to try and stop myself from trying to straighten it up absentmindedly!
I recently picked up an eye-safe black glitter from Make Up For Ever (No. 10), and wanted to have a little play with it, albeit not on my eyes! It's not my first foray into black lips
or glitter lips, but I thought the two would look good together. I also picked up their Mat Velvet + foundation in the lightest shade, Alabaster, and I hope to have a review up soon!
